As you know, food is a big part of my life. That is why it breaks my heart hearing there are people going hungry right here in the Northwest.

I’m grateful that we are able to do many things for our community, but our big effort every year is to raise money for Food Lifeline through the NFL’s Kick Hunger Challenge.

Thanks to your support, we were able to raise $118,189

(Enough to provide almost 600,000 meals!)

I can’t tell you how happy this makes my heart this morning! I was also just informed that since starting this project 5 years ago, you have helped raise $525,000, equating to 2.6 MILLION MEALS.

Thank you to all who came out to events, bought raffle tickets, and more:

Back in June we hosted the Kick Hunger Challenge Celebrity Poker Tournament to raise money for Food Lifeline

$1 was donated to Food Lifeline from special cocktails at Beardslee Public House, SPORT Restaurant, Seastar Restaurant & Raw Bar, and John Howie Steak throughout the season.

We raffled off this autographed Russell Wilson jersey to raise money.

Thanks to all who came to the Craig Terrill Sing-A-Long at Beardslee Public House, and Craig for performing!

Thanks to Ames Bros for donating part of their clothing sales to the cause!

In January we hosted the Kick Hunger Challenge Dinner & Auction at SPORT Restaurant to raise money for Food Lifeline.

Thank you to all others that helped put this together, including but not limited to Graham Crow, Larry Snyder, Maestro Software, and the Pearl Jam Ten Club.

We weren’t able to finish first in the country this year, but we did finish 2nd against every other NFL city, and I am very proud of that. Congratulations to Houston on technically winning the Kick Hunger Challenge, although you and I both know that everyone wins when we help those in need. And the Taste of the NFL donated an additional $5,000 to Food Lifeline since we finished 2nd!

Unfortunately our neighbors will continue to go hungry, so we’ll be doing it again next season! The campaign kicks off with our Celebrity Poker Tournament, hosted by Seahawk Jordan Babineaux, on June 9th!
