The Best Easy-Drinking Summer Wine (According to Wine Director and Head Distiller, Erik Liedholm)

Our company wine director for all our restaurants, and head distiller of Wildwood Spirits, Erik Liedholm, was recently featured in an article in The Wall Street Journal!

The article, “Easy-Drinking Summer Wines: What the Experts Sip,” by Lettie Teague tries to find you the best selection of summer wines that anyone can enjoy without putting too much of a dent in your pocket.

For you, Liedholm suggests the 2016 Elio Perrone Bigaro Rosé Piedmont from Italy, which is only about $18 per bottle.

Lettie writes: “Mr. Liedholm calls this rosé ‘the wine cooler of your youth but more refined.’ That’s a pretty fair description of this low-alcohol (5%) sparkling rosé, a blend of Moscato and Brachetto produced in the Piedmont region of Italy. Mr. Liedholm suggests pairing the sweet, but not too sweet, fizzy, cherry-red wine with spicy food, although I’d drink it as dessert or perhaps freeze it into popsicles instead.”
